The study out of Poland is about how the ketogenic diet can help people with bipolar disorder. Sometimes medications do not work well for people with bi polar disorder, so they need other ways to treat their condition.
The study reports the case of a man who had bipolar disorder and tried a ketogenic diet. He was able to stop taking one of his medications and reduce the dose of another. He also achieved full remission of his disorder.
Bipolar affective disorder is a chronic mental disorder, characterized by mood swings alternating between depression and manic or hypomanic episodes. Unfortunately, in some patients pharmacological treatment is not effective, and a certain group of patients shows treatment resistance. Therefore, other treatment methods are sought after, including a change in diet. The most promising is the ketogenic diet.
